Kashmir Fund DK was born out of a moment of shock — and a decision to take responsibility.
In 2005, a group of students watched one of the biggest disasters of their lifetime unfold on television. The scale of the devastation was overwhelming, and the suffering felt impossible to ignore. Instead of waiting for answers, they acted.
What began as an immediate, grassroots effort to support rescue and relief operations soon grew into something much bigger. Over time, that initial response evolved into a full-fledged non-governmental organization dedicated to improving healthcare and living conditions for vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
Today, Kashmir Fund DK works primarily in the healthcare sector, establishing medical camps and healthcare centres, training healthcare workers, upgrading rural hospitals, and improving access to essential medical services in remote and underserved areas. Alongside healthcare, providing access to clean and safe drinking water remains a core focus of our work, helping communities across Pakistan improve health and dignity through sustainable water solutions.
While our scope has expanded, our roots as a disaster relief organization remain central to who we are. We continue to respond to emergencies across Pakistan whenever communities need support the most.
Kashmir Fund DK is a fully voluntary organization. Our team — made up of doctors, academics, and professionals — contributes their time, expertise, and often personal resources to make our work possible. We rely on the trust, networks, and generosity of our supporters to fund our projects and extend our reach.
Our mission is simple but ambitious: to help build a better world by improving healthcare for all, with a particular focus on people living in remote areas, especially mothers and children.
Our vision is a Pakistan where access to quality healthcare and clean water is not a privilege, but a basic right.
Allah (SWT) said: “Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.”
